Standard Hours Pharmacy Approved for St Austell in Cornwall
Our latest success story is for a client we have secured multiple new pharmacy contracts for in Cornwall. In this case it was St Austell, where 2 Boots pharmacies had closed and the remaining pharmacies were clearly under a lot of pressure. Despite the ICB initially refusing the application, we prepared an extensive report to support the application at appeal and Primary Care Appeals decided to hold an oral hearing to determine the case. We represented our client at the hearing and the application was approved. There have been a lot of new pharmacies approved in the last year due to the closure of so many Lloyds and Boots branches, but we seem to be coming towards the end of that process now and unless further closures of multiple pharmacy outlets are announced the market for new applications should quieten down next year. At the same time there will be lots of new PNAs being published so it will be interesting to see what effect this has on the volume of new applications.
